The Board is extremely happy to announce that the Quail Ridge Residents’ Association (QRRA) has been chosen to participate in the City of Kelowna’s Neighbourhood Association Affiliation Pilot Program (NAAPP)!
The NAAPP is a two-year (2024-2026) pilot program that aims to create a formal partnership program with the City that will be used for all neighbourhood associations in the future ... and like the QRRA's community focus, a large part of the partnership program will be about being FireSmart.
QRRA was chosen because of the association’s previous successes and commitment to building a vibrant, safe and connected community. And as an affiliated neighbourhood association, we have gained access to a range of benefits, including funding support!
This funding support will be aimed primarily at community’s safety and building neighbourhood connections. This will include funding for our FireSmart initiatives, a community BBQ, the May 25th garage sale and hosting a meeting to develop a community enhancement plan with the City of Kelowna, the Fire Department, the University of BC and the Golf Course.
We will keep you informed as the pilot progresses.
To close, the Board would also like to take this time to thank Nesters Market.
Nesters is a fantastic community partner! On May 4th, our FireSmart team was able to set up in front of the store to meet and greet people and hand out information about FireSmart safety and celebrate Neighbour Day.
