QRRA Spring Update

We wanted to let you know about some brand new things coming up as well as the projects that we have been working on and what you can see coming up in the next couple of months.

1) Pickle & Paddle Athletic Club Opening this summer!

We have just learned about a new athletic club opening at 2045 Matrix Court. This is great news for all of those respondents to our Community Wish List Survey last summer who had stated that this, and a community meeting place, were of paramount importance to the membership. The Community Wish List Survey results are on the Community LInks page.

2) Register for the 1st annual Cherry Pie Eating Contest at the Kelowna Fruit Stand and Cafe and learn about the rail trail passport program!

The Kelowna Fruit Stand is holding its first annual Cherry Pie Eating Contest on June 28th! Spots are limited to 25 contestants. Learn more and register here: Contest | Kelowna Fruit Stand

Plus, the fruit stand has recently worked to tidy up the make-shift trail that cyclists had created between the Rail Trail and the stand and launched a rail trail passport program! Cyclists can now enjoy easier access to all the coffees and treats that the Fruit Stand offers.

3) Which number should I call to report those strange drones around the neighbourhood?

We had quite a few emails last weekend about the drone activity so we updated the Community LInks page of this website with a quasi calling protocol sheet, provided by the City of Kelowna's Community Safety team. 4) Aside from the Garage Sale and last Week's FireSmart Clean Up ...

The board has done a lot of work to streamline the administrative side of running our residents' association.

For starters, the definition of membership has been streamlined ... anyone in the community can become a member. And, if you want to help out with covering the costs of running our website and other business costs, you can contribute $10 for a 2-year subscription and have a say in how we run the association and spend its money. See our About Us page.

As well, we are in the process of building out the backend of the website ...

5) We are SO grateful for all the work that Atomic Cafe is providing us rebuild the admin side of our website!!!

For those of you who have participated on our board, you know just how much work is involved in membership management and the renewal processes.

With our Neighbourhood Association grant funding in hand, we approached Jennifer Fuller of Atomic 55 (#7 3185 Via Centrale Drive) to contract with them to help us streamline membership management via our website.

Atomic 55 is a digital marketing and internet technology agency located in the Quail Ridge.

Atomic 55 is also such a fantastic community supporter - the company is donating its time to redevelop our website management processes!

WOW ... we were so stunned with their offer ... and SO grateful! Thank you Jennifer.

We have our new business email address in place - we had mentioned this in our Winter Update (communications@qrra.org) so once the membership piece is complete, we will be asking all of you for your patience and help as we launch our new communications processes. From your end, it probably won't seem like much, but from ours, the changes will be incredible.
