In October, a call went out to the community. We needed volunteers to help clean up and FireSmart Country Club Trail.

Many residents use Country Club Trail (the trail between Country Club and Capistrano Drive) as part of their daily walk.

To show our gratitude to the private homeowners who graciously allow public use of this path at our own risk, Jackie Venter, one of our Directors, decided to organize a minor trail cleanup to improve safety, security, and the enjoyment of everyone who walks here.

What an amazing success!

As these "before shots" illustrates, the trail was covered in small pebbles and pine needles that contributed to the trail's risk and the chance of slipping and twisting an ankle.

The team raked the trail and trimmed back alot of the conifers to make the trail much safer for hikers and homeowners alike!

A HUGE thank you goes out to Jackie, Bruce, Lynn, Crystal, Rachel, Reg, Christine as well as Pat AND Bruce and Heather for their rescue this week with the use of their trucks (2) to haul away the fire debris to the landfill.

Well done! Be Safe. Be FireSmart!
