Quail Ridge Banner is not lost…

Last month, the City of Kelowna’s Parks department installed the new banner on the light post near the corner of Quail Ridge Boulevard and Country Club Drive…and the winds almost ripped it off the post.

Park’s has retrieved the banner and we’re working on finding a fix.

Stay tuned…

Kelowna’s Community Safety Survey

As part of developing the Community Safety Plan, the Canadian Municipal Network on Crime Prevention is conducting a survey of Kelowna residents to inform the plan. If you wish to participate, access the City of Kelowna Community Safety Survey here: City of Kelowna Community Safety Survey (surveymonkey.com)

Note: the survey closes at 5 p.m. on September 13.

Parkinson Rec Centre’s Annual Maintenance Closure

The swimming pools and aquatic area (including the steam room and hot tub) as well as the gymnasium at Parkinson Recreation Centre will be closed for annual maintenance and cleaning from Monday, August 30 to Sunday, September 19. No drop-in basketball or volleyball will be available during this time and the family changing room will also be closed.

Pass holders will automatically have the missed time due to the closure added to their pass or punch passes.

A Big Thank You to August Motors!!!

We received a fantastic story from Claudette Senger. Claudette got caught in the thunder and rain storm last week and took shelter in August Motors’ parking area…and they provided her with water, packed her and her bike in one of their covered vehicles and drove her home.

Nice! What a great business neighbour! Thank you August Motors!!!

Local Development

Hexagon Purus Systems, a global company that builds battery packs and hydrogen storage systems, is building a micro-factory at 2150 Matrix Crescent. Welcome!

… and a long long time business neighbour, Pier Mac, will be shutting down local operations in 2022.

Please, lock up, stay safe and keep an eye on our neighbourhood.
