Mosquito Control Program - Roadside Catch Basin Treatment

The Regional District announced that, weather permitting, treatment of catch basins will be the focus of the Regional District Mosquito Control program crews' efforts from Monday June 29th through Friday July 3rd. Program crew will be stopping at every roadside catch basin in the City of Kelowna, District of Lake Country, District of Peachland, a portion of West Kelowna Estates in the City of West Kelowna and the Sunset Ranch community in the Central Okanagan East Electoral Area, and treating the basins with water soluble pouches that contain pellets of an environmentally approved mosquito larvicide.

Local Businesses' Offerings

We are sad to announce that the Sawdust Bakery, at 3185 Via Centrale, has been forced to close. The Sawdust Bakery was a great member of the community, supporting the FireSmart BBQ in May 2019, and providing us with their fantastic pizza, chicken club sandwiches and wonderful baked goods. We wish Stephanie the best.

We would like to welcome Maria's, a restaurant that will be opening in this location, on June 30th. Maria's will offer take out service for Italian food such as lasagna and sweet pastries, but there will be two tables available on the patio.

Subway is now open and Kaya, the Dairy Queen and A&W are now open for limited services. As well, a dental practice will be opening in Airport Village. We will provide further information as it becomes available.
