About the event
Bring your clippers and saws, meet some new friends and we will provide lunch!
Plus, if you have a truck and can help haul debris to the landfill, we will cover all landfill costs.
The goal is to create a defensible space that will help reduce wildfire spread by reducing surface fuels, eliminating ladder fuels, and improving firefighter access.
To do this, we need volunteers to:
• Remove low branches (limbing) up to a height that reduces ladder fuels — generally pruning lower branches so that fire can’t easily climb from the ground into the tree canopy, and removing dead or dying vegetation.
• Remove small branches and debris that could act as wildfire fuel along the roadside.
