Lock up your cars and keep your valuables safe. We have had several reports of cars being broken into over the past few months, and two separate reports of wallets being found on July 12th. If either of these wallets are yours, please contact the QRRA.
Recycling Info
A few members have asked about recycling to help the decipher “what goes where”. The City of Kelowna has some excellent brochures on this – see attached.
As well, the Recycle BC has introduce a new pilot program for flexible packaging, including items like stand-up and zipper lock pouches, crinkly wrappers and bags, net plastic bags and more. These can be brought to the following Columbia Bottle Depots:
- Columbia Bottle Depot – 1988 Kirschner Road
- Columbia Bottle Depot – 680 Dease Road
- Columbia Bottle Depot – 1314 St Paul Street.
Notice: Second Round of Curbside Mosquito Control Treatment
Weather permitting, from Monday July 30th through Friday August 3rd, crew members wearing high visibility vests driving four scooters and a marked Chevy pickup will be stopping at every roadside catch basin in the City of Kelowna, District of Lake Country, District of Peachland, a portion of West Kelowna Estates in the City of West Kelowna and the Sunset Ranch community in the Central Okanagan East Electoral Area. They will be dropping water soluble pouches containing pellets of an environmentally approved mosquito larvicide into the catch basin.
Reminder: License Your Dogs
The Regional District of Central Okanagan reminds dog owners that all dogs in the Central Okanagan must be licensed.
Licenses can be purchased, renewed or accounts maintained online or by using the “My Dog Matters” App (www.mydogmatters.ca/MDMApp) or in person, at the:
- Regional District office (1450 KLO Road, Kelowna)
- Regional Dog Pound (890 Weddell Place, Kelowna
- Municipal government offices
- Kelowna branch of the SPCA (3785 Casorso Road).
